I was asked at the beginning of the year to take on the task of heading up our 3rd Annual Back to School Shopping day. This event is for families that can not afford school clothes. Think back to your first day of school each year...you might not have had new stuff for all week...like our kids but it something about that first day that you wanted to have something great. Being a teacher and see many kids on the first day and how BLESSED my own children are it was something that I have helped with every year but I was not sure that I want or could be the leader. It took me a while to agree and many prayers. I had SO much help. We washed, folded, sorted, ironed and hung up over 4000 piece of clothing. We wanted it to be as if they were really shopping. We had different tables labeled with sizes, Sak Fifth Ave bags...dressing rooms..personal shoppers to help them, free dinner, hair cuts, shoes...etc. It was an amazing night, We helped about 214 childern get ready for school...
Every child got a free pairs of socks and underwear. We spent over $2000! It was worth every penny.
Warehouse of extra clothes...
Those lockers were STUFFED with over 300 pair of shoes...so cool.
The doorway to the salons. Amy did a wonderful job with these rooms. It made the kids feel special. Many of them have never had a real hair cut at a salon so it was a great thing.

The girls hair salon.....
We had a 'lice-fairy' that checked hair before the kids could get their free hair cuts....
